About Skitch

Skitch is a Mac Application that allows you to easily take snapshots of your computer screen and then overlay text and graphics. It even has a 1-click upload feature so you can share your pics to their website skitch.com, your .Mac web space, Flickr or even your own website. A truly awesome Mac application and web service.

A Bit of Promotion

It's not too often I recommend a new bit of software, but here goes... Head over the skitch.com and download Skitch.

It's a little Mac application that allows you to take snapshots (or screen grabs) of our computer screen. You can resize and crop the grabs plus overlay text, arrows and other graphics. Skitch has a great user interface which makes all this really easy. Perfect for doing a quick screen-shot and then pasting it into an email. You can even grab from an iSight if you've got one.

The really cool thing is that Skitch can automatically upload your images onto the Internet so you can use them on your website. You get an account on skitch.com that allows you to upload your pics to their servers. You can even set it up to upload the files to your .Mac web space, your Flickr account or even FTP the file to your own website.

Once logged into Skitch.com you can open a page with a full set of URLS to share the image or embed it in a page on another site, be it your own site, Facebook or any other. You can even make the image public or private. 20080706-r6d6nuybmbiu9pekri5geqkd8r.jpg

It's all very easy to use and well worth a peek. There's even a great intro video on the home page which teaches you to use Skitch in a matter of minutes.

It's just such a great little piece of software that I just had to spread the word.
